It's just incredible how Trumpkopf punishes our allies and rewards our adversaries. If I didn't know any better, I would swear he was taking orders from Putin. /s

We continue to assume that Trump's wrecking of the USA is due to his incompetence and stupidity. But are we sure? He has done so much damage to the US, while enriching himself, that one wonders whether he is Putin's 'asset" and whether he intends to skip to safety in Russia if he should be held criminally and civilly accountable domestically. It would take real skill that he doesn't have to so thoroughly destroy the US as a global hegemon since WWII. Can anyone name a similarly destructive leader of his own country so effectively in so short a period?

Occam's Razor suggests that Trump is at least as incompetent and stupid as we think he is, while also being extremely susceptible to empty flattery and suggestion, so he is simply the willing tool of every thug and dictator who already understood how to manipulate the weak-minded.

That's how he became Krasnov.

During the late 1970s, Marc Rich illegally sold Iranian oil that violated the sanctions on Iran. He was found guilty, but evaded jail by decamping to Switzerland. Eventually, his wife got him pardoned by Bill Clinton. Trump is doing a similar thing, but by fiat as a POTUS. Rank hath its privileges! https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Marc_Rich

The dollar is indeed in a way being weakened by crypto and countries building their own independent systems (China, or Europe's digital Euro), however, the dollar is being strengthened by stablecoins -- and if the growth of machine to machine economy continues (Agentic commerce), that might mean further dollarisations for countries which do not have their currencies as stablecoins (the digital euro is for eg. not blockchain based)

Thanks for this. Your analysis adds a lot of depth to what's becoming my hypothesis that The Man is steadily implementing the Oligarchic equivalent of the Chinese state's 'Social Credit' system, in which one's ability to have what passes for 'agency' depends upon one's accepting of Having No Agency. I fully expect that within a very short time after what passes for the midterms, Social Security recipients will be given 'the alternative' to receive our paltry monthly SSI checks in the form of crypto. And only as long as we provide all the background data on ourselves that The Man wants.

Also, and in support of your thesis here and elsewhere, writer Sarah Kendzior picked up on Trump's 2014 campaign plank that he intended to wreck the existing financial system, and the Dollar as a way to gain more power. I could find that statement and the underlying endnote that backs that up, if it matters.

Most of the media avoids the perils you've put before us here; even the insightful cynics that I know will push back against these notions as "unbelievable" or too "out there". They are not.

Thanks again,

Tim Long, Just Up the Hill from Lock 15.
